The Music Generation

When we talk about the music generation, we are not talking about music ministers alone, we are talking about both the givers and the consumers. Sounds are powerful, sounds are time travelers, they go before. We often hear that sounds precedes, sounds go ahead and so on…. And this is why you will most likely find more people at a music worship meeting than a word worship meeting- (will explain another day). But unfortunately, until our lives and body goes to where our sounds have gone, we are just tasting but not having, we are tasting but not lastingly blessed.

Scripture says in Psalms 34:8 – “taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man that takes refuge in Him”. So the man who is blessed is the one that abides, the one that takes refuge in God.

The music generation likes the sound of their hit song, not the God that is being sung about. The music generation have little patience for the word of God. You hear them say things like- I’m more of a worship person than a prayer or word person. I don’t understand, How can you worship what you know not? The music generation are carried away by the tune, the beat and not the message. The music generation loves the singer more than the God. The music generation is after what trends as opposed to what lasts. And let me shock you, the music generation is not just made up of young people but old people too.

The music generation is described as those who draw near with their lips but their hearts are far away. Mathew 15:8, Isaiah 29:13. Are you one of the music generation?

Have a God filled Life.
